Teaching is a highly stress-provoking occupation (Kokkino, 2007).Teachers play a key role in upgrading the literacy and competition ability of citizens, so they suffer severe work stress. This study was carried to explore the current status of teacher stress, leisure coping, leisure participation, and health of English teachers in elementary schools in Taipei City, to examine the relationships within stress, coping, and health with the involvement of leisure participation, and to offer suggestions to lighten strain for English teachers. 340 teachers completed four self-report questionnaires: Teacher Stress Scale, Leisure Coping Measurement Scale, Leisure Participation Measurement Scale, and SF-12 Health Survey, and descriptive statistics and structural equation models were conducted to perform the analysis. The results of this study revealed that students, time, and organization are top three stressors, leisure coping makes more positive attitude and gain a short release from stress, and indoor entertainments are the leisure activities with the highest frequency of participation, and physical functions have very low effect on doing the chores.
