Analysis and Design of a 5-GHz Low Noise Phase Quadrature VCO Using Varactor Diode

A quadrature oscillator using active superharmonic coupling is introduced. In this, work, we present a method to obtain quadrate VCO based on the differential VCO. The circuit is simulated in standard 0.18μm CMOS. This CMOS quadrature VCO shows very good performance with an amplitude of the first harmonic is 4.152dBm for fundamental, phase noise -110.1dBc/Hz for fundamental and -115.5dBc/Hz at a 1MHz offset.
