運用工程智慧型手機APP進行開發自然科學現象應用的學習活動

The Use of Engineering Smartphones APP for Learning Science

摘要


本研究提出並評估學生以自行設計開發App 方式來進行科學及工程上學習,該建議的方法係學生具備基本的程式技能,提供學生建置與執行自行開發的科學應用程式於行動通訊裝置上,學生亦藉由手機App 所蒐集之數據,理解科學的方法及情境中數據的收集。手機已成為現今學生日常生活的一部分,此建議的學習方式提供學生們學習真實科學的新觀點。跨學科的設計為基礎的學習,目的是幫助學生體驗到科學是什麼及科學是如何利用技術來改善人們的生活,利用App 工具、智慧型手機及其感測器的創作構成如此的經歷,成為科學與工程學習的創新方式,其結果與影響對於未來世代的青少年於工程與科學上的學習,當有耳目一新的體驗與認識。

This paper reports a students self-design and development of a mobile APP, aiming to support the learning of engineering and science. The suggested approach offers the opportunity for students to deploy and execute their own science applications on smartphones, requiring basic programming skills. Students also are involved in the understanding of scientific method and data collection scenarios in which they need to visualize and utilize the data collected by the mobile applications. The cross-discipline design-based learning aims to help students experience what the science is and how it is technically utilized to improve people's life. Such learning experience is constructed upon the use of authoring APP tools and smartphones and smartphones’ sensors. The suggested learning provides a new aspect of authentic science learning for nowadays students, taking mobile phones as part of their daily life. Corresponding results and implications should shield a new light on the learning of science and engineering for current generation of youngsters.
