There are a lot of accidents when people use conventional standing wheelchairs because the factor of centerof- gravity is not considered well in the design. To solve this problem, this study aimed to analyze the kinematic model of a highly stable standing wheelchair which provides three adjustable positions: ordinary, high-sitting, and standing positions. This wheelchair uses 7-bar mechanism to stoutly uphold the wheelchair enabling users to shift among the three positions along a vertical line safely. To verify the feasibility of this wheelchair, this study constructed a kinematic model with the analysis by algebraic position analysis of linkages. With several calculations, this model provides a more convenient and safer standing wheelchair to people with disabilities.
