真理如何「方法」？：從迦達瑪（Hans-Georg Gadamer）的詮釋理論評析釋經和講道中的「應用」

長久以來，知識論和方法論是詮釋的重點；詮釋者梳理文本，目的在於確定文本背後的意思，文本對當下讀者的關係並不是詮釋的基本問題。換言之，對應讀者的「應用」並不屬於詮釋的範圍。這樣的詮釋觀所影響的宣講，必然認為講章的應用部份是講道者後置的操作。本文引用迦達瑪的詮釋理論，說明應用是詮釋經文必然的部分，並非後加的設置。作為非技術的文本，聖經的啟示並非提供技術性知識，詮釋經文而發展出的應用，往往不是「如何？怎樣？」的答案。經文發展出的應用必須與經文的體裁和修辭相符，才是貼近經文的聖經講道。最後，經文的應用與群體的脈絡和處境關連。這意味聖經講道有無盡的公共性和可能性。

Epistemology and methodology have long been the concerns of hermeneutics since the Enlightenment. The purpose of interpreting any text is to grip the meaning behind the text and ＂application＂ is therefore not intrinsically a part of interpretation. The influence of this view of hermeneutics on preaching is obvious-application in a sermon is extraneous to the text preached. Based on Gadamer's hermeneutics that application is a natural and necessary part of interpretation, this study suggests that since the biblical text does not provide technical knowledge, preachers should pay heed to the genre and rhetoric of the text in order to interpret it. Accordingly, the application of a sermon is not to provide ＂know-how＂ but instead to join the horizons of the text and the reader.
