邁向零污染的普通化學實驗設計

Non-pollution Design of General Chemistry Experiments

摘要


在保護環境的前提之下,降低化學實驗對環境所造成的污染已是刻不容緩的事情,本文描述如何以簡單的化學原理及實驗步驟,低廉的處理成本,有效的將一般普通化學實驗本身所產生的廢棄物加以回收甚至再利用。主要的廢棄物處方式抱括:(1)有機溶劑:加以分別收集後蒸餾純化後再利用。(2)重金屬:包指銀、銅、錳及六價鉻離子分別經過適當的處理方式後成為可再利用的化合物。(3)三碘離子:利用簡單的化工程序可大量處理具有氣化還原能力的三碘離子廢液。

Reducing the pollution from the chemistry experiments is an important theme for protecting our environment and for education. We suggested some simple techniques to treat the pollutants from general chemistry experiments. The pollutants could be destroyed at relatively low cost and in some cases valuable products could be recovered. The following pollutants have been studied:( 1) organic solvents, such as cyclohexane and hexane, to be distilled and reused. (2) heavy metal ions , such as silver, copper, manganese and chromium (VI) ions to be converted into valuable laboratory chemicals . (3) triiodic ion, to be reduced to iodide ions using simple unit operation techniques.
