微型電化學實驗之設計研究-微型環保電解裝置與微型氫氧燃料電池

Studies on the Designs of Microscale Chemistry Experiments: Microscale Environmental Electrolysis Apparatus and Microscale Hydrogen/Oxygen Fuel Cells

摘要


微型化學實驗是二十一世紀新穎的化學實驗方法與技術,而電化學在化學領域中一個非常重要的單元。本文將介紹一套把電化學實驗裝置加以微型化、藥品減量化的微型電化學實驗,此一裝置之設計具有二合一的功能:「微型環保電解裝置」兼「微型氫氧燃料電池」,這兩套實驗教具可使學生對於電解及電池這兩個電化學中的重要概念,有更進一步的瞭解,並激發學生對於現今很受重視並積極地推廣的綠色實驗及能源利用有深一層的認識與興趣,因此此一微型化學實驗裝置與實驗技術,很值得在電化學單元中加以推廣。

The electrochemistry experiment plays an important role in chemistry course. However, environmental and safety considerations arise. This article introduces designs and operations of microscale electrochemistry experiment in both microscale environmental electrolysis and microscale hydrogen / oxygen fuel cells. The results indicate that the microscale method in electrochemistry can eliminate the above-mentioned problems. With this new simple apparatus, the amounts of chemicals consumed and waste produced during these microscale electrochemistry experiments were greatly reduced in comparison with those in the traditional electrochemistry experiments. Hence, the promotion of microscale electrochemistry experiment apparatus for chemistry course may be worthy.
