The scaffolding functions and instructional applications of electronic picture books help teachers use this tool to assist young children’s reading performance. The researcher employs observations and interviews to collect data, focusing on the electronic scaffolding, learning scaffolding, social scaffolding of integrating electronic picture books into young children’s learing activities, and explores the influences of this tools on language literacy and reading comprehension for young children. The results indicate that teachers use the electronic scaffolding of picture books to analyze learning objectives, combined with game-based learning to arrange progressive learning tasks, and help young children developing language literacy and reading comprehension through social scaffolding of teacher-student interaction and peer supporting. Finally, the researcher discusses the results from the study, and provides the action with reference of constructing researching and practices about applying electronic picture book into instructiona for young children.
