One of the most challenging tasks restaurant managers face today is finding and retaining the right people to provide quality service to meet the demand of our consumers Besides from making sure that the restaurant runs properly and efficiently, managers must inspire and motivate employees to be passionate about their work and commitment to stay. Understanding Generation-Xers's attitudes towards work and expectations from companies they work for, restaurant managers are developing strategies to work and retain this group of young workers. Studies have found that employees are more committed to an organization when managers take time to communicate their values, dream s and expectatlions clearly to all levels of the staff. Also, employees perform better and stay longer with companies that value employees as people, that have good communication and coordination, and that encourage staff participation and teamwork. At the same time, managers must ascertain opportunities for their staff to grow, advance and achieve personal goals. Good leadership is the key to making a good company soar to greatness. This paper presents the success story in the development of a "quality service culture" by the management of Rimrock Hotel in Banff, Canada.
