國人使用特殊補充品之狀況研究

摘要

本研究的目的是為了解國人對於特殊補充品的使用情形，及探討使用情形與其他因子之相關性。於民國八十一年九月至八十二年五月期間，在台灣地區(包括澎湖)採系統抽樣，電話訪問之方式進行調查，受試者年齡從18歲~89歲，男性1175人，女性1330人，共計2505名受試者經由電話問卷調查於調查期間使用特殊補充品的情形及其他相關資料。結果顯示，受試者中有532人(21.2 %)使用特殊補充品，其特殊補充品的使用情形與年齡、教育程度、性別等因子均有顯著相關(Chi-square Test, P＜0.05)。使用種類中，以營養輔助食品之使用率12.6%為最高；大部份的使用者(78.2%)會繼續使用目前所用的補充品，其使用的時間長度依補充品種類的不同而有差異；使用建議者為醫療相關人員之比例有偏低(11.7%)之現象，而以親朋好友之比例(51.1%)為最高；顯示營養及醫療方面之專業人員的輔導仍有待加強。

From September 1992 to May 1993, a survey of health supplement usage was conducted in the Taiwan area. Samples consisted ofl175 men and 1330 women, aged from 18 to 89 years, A telephone survey was conducted to research the current status of health supplement useage. Among the surveyed samples, 21.2% (532) of the total population took health supplements at the time of survey. There was a significant difference in age, education, and sex distributions between users and non-users (P＜ 0.05). Supplementary nutritious food were the most widely consumed item 'reported (12.6%) by the health supplement users. And approximately 78.2% of users expressed they would continue to take the supplements. The period of usage varies according to the types of supplements. Only 11.7% of the users took supplements according to health specialists' instructions. Therefore, the professional consultation on health supplement usage by dieticians, pharmacists, and doctors should be enhanced.
