【論文摘要】探討泰國與臺灣寵物友善飯店之消費者選擇考量因素研究

摘要

In the year 2020, the global hotel industry faced a severe lockdown due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Moreover, there has been an upsurge in the number of people adopting various types of pets and traveling with their pets in Asian countries. As such, the primary objective of this study is to explore the behavior and needs of pet-friendly hotel consumers in Thailand and Taiwan. The study aims to determine the priority of factors that these consumers consider when selecting pet-friendly hotels. As previous studies on this topic are limited, a qualitative study is initially employed, using in-depth interviews that are distributed among twelve experts, with six experts from Thailand and six experts from Taiwan. Additionally, the study conducts two focus groups of consumers who have experience with pet-friendly hotels, consisting of 10 participants from Thailand and 10 participants from Taiwan, followed by two focus groups from consumers who have not experienced pet-friendly hotels before. According to research results, in Thailand, pet-friendly hotels provide pets with exclusive spaces, such as dedicated pet rooms and sandboxes for cats. Compare with Taiwan, pet-friendly hotels pay more attention on providing healthy food options. The study provides insights into the behavior and preferences of customers in selecting pet-friendly hotels, which can offer potential development for a marketing strategy for pet-friendly hotels in Taiwan and Thailand.
