摘要

清朝嘉慶道光以降，基督教新教傳教士通過出版發行中文報刊等途徑，在西學東漸的過程中發揮了重要的橋樑紐帶作用，對近代中國產生了廣泛、持久而深刻的影響。截至1900年，新教傳教士中文報刊刊載了大量關於「博物院」、「博物館」的新聞報導，發表了在華外國人關於博物館的專題論述文章，展現了類型多樣的博物館形象，豐富了晚清士人對博物館的認識和理解，成為了時人認識博物館的一條重要途徑，從而有力地推動了中國早期博物館知識的傳播，並對中國近代博物館運動產生了重要影響。本文將以19世紀基督教新教傳教士中文報刊為例，研究和探討早期博物館知識在中國的傳播及其影響。

Starting in the 1810s, Protestant missionaries played a significant role in spreading Western learning to the East by disseminating publications in Chinese, which produced a deep, long-lasting and widespread effect on modern China. Up to 1900, the Protestant Missionary Press had published a large number of news reports and several thematic articles written by Westerners in China that focused on the diversity of museums. These enriched the knowledge and understanding of museums among the Chinese during the late Qing dynasty. The Chinese-language newspaper and magazines of the Protestant Missionary Press were important resources for the Chinese people to understand the concepts of museums, and effectively promoted and spread museum knowledge, which led to a museum movement in early modern China. The aim of this paper is to take the 19th-century Protestant Missionary Press as an example to research early museum knowledge dissemination and its influence in China.
