The International Conference on ＂James Legge: A Bicentennial Celebration of His Birth＂ was held in Hong Kong and Beijing respectively in 2015. 38 speeches were presented by scholars of sinology, history, theology, translatology, philology and psychology. The conference articulates that: (a) it is necessary for researchers on missionary sinologists to clarify the connection between their theological ideas, translations and missionary work with respect to their historical backgrounds; (b) an integration of research methods of theology, translatology, history and other disciplines sheds light on different aspects of missionary sinologists.
