梁啟超對中國史學研究的創新
THE NEW ORIENTATION IN LIANG CH'I-CH'AO'S STUDY OF CHINESE HISTORY

The contribution which Liang Ch'i-ch'ao made to the study of Chinese history is prominent. Influenced by his teacher and friends and the ideas of evolution, he made efforts to seek for new orientation in the study of general history, history of Chinese civilization, biography, chronological biography, etc. He put great emphasis on the political and nationalistic meaning of history. In his historical writings, we can sense striking patriotic feelings and conciousness. ＂History should be written for the people of the country＂ is his theory to which he stuck throughout his writings. Based on these lines, the present article delineates Lianf's new historical ideas and the development and influence of these ideas in Liang's works.
