The purpose of this paper is to explore the application strategy of creative thinking teaching in painting class. The first part is based on the basic theory of creative thinking teaching. The content includes: the characteristics of creative thinking teaching, the purpose of implementation and the principle of teaching, and explaining that the teaching application strategies commonly is used in painting classes include: brainstorming method, powerful combination method, morphological analysis method, free association idea and sub-legalization. The characteristics of each strategy and the focus of teaching are briefly stated. Then, each strategy with the actual teaching examples in the classroom is combined with different unit themes to describe, and the student works are used as a supplementary explanation for the application of the strategy. It is hoped that through such discussion, the teaching can be more prominent in the teaching of "painting". Efficacy, which helps students improve their creative thinking skills.
