管窺初期佛教思想與人間佛教思想的關係以「戒定慧」三學為中心

摘要

本文是「初期佛教的戒定慧思想」與星雲大師「人間佛教的戒定慧思想」兩相對讀的初步研究。透過解讀阿含經中精簡扼要的文意，並歸納分析經論義理之後，確實可以發現在初期佛教思想中，早已蘊含著類同於人間佛教思想的基本觀念，而這也就顯示了從初期佛教發展到人間佛教思想的「延續性」意義。此外，同樣的，通過「星雲模式」的人間佛教思想，我們也可以進一步發掘初期佛教義理思想與大乘人間性之間的關係性線索。

This paper aims to provide a preliminary analysis of the relation between the Three Disciplines as mentioned in Early Buddhism and that in Humanistic Buddhism as advocated by Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Through an understanding of the teachings from the Agama sutras and an analysis of the doctrines provided, one can see that the Humanistic Buddhist exegesis was already present in early Buddhist thoughts. This also demonstrates a continuing link from early Buddhism to Humanistic Buddhism. Similarly, through Venerable Master Hsing Yun's model of Humanistic Buddhism, we can also discover the connection between early Buddhist thoughts and the humanism as demonstrated in Mahayana Buddhism.
