This article will focus on a study of the book Shih-Lu (實錄), which was written by Juan Cobo, O.P. in 1593. Methodological hermeneutics would be its research method. Firstly, the author would like to point out that the block-printing method in the Philippines comes from China, this could be proved from the early relationship between China and the Philippines. Secondly, the author will enter on the text of Shih-Lu, to lead the reader to understand its text correctly by inner reading of its original manuscript, aided by pictures and dialogues, for the purpose of playing on the horizon of religion, philosophy, science and theology. Thirdly, the author tries to interpret Shih-Lu from the aspect of the Picture-Printing of Ming's style, it describes how the fantastic pictures of Shih-Lu are delivered in order to let the reader enter the ＂Sitz im Leben＂ of the encounter between Confucianism and Christianity in the sixteenth century, in the meantime to let the reader feel the live interaction between both one. Fourthly, based on the aforementioned interpretation, the author tries to return to Shih-Lu, a ＂zurück-gehen＂ identification, to let Shih-Lu give back its historical and cultural values. Lastly, the author will deliver a summary of this study, in the meantime to give a commentary on Juan Cobo, O.P., Pien Cheng-Chiao Chen-Chuan Shih-Lu 《辨正教真傳實錄》(Manila: 1593), Ed. By Fidel Villarroel, O.P. (Manila: University of Santo Tomas Press, 1986), in order to start from the ＂what＂ of Shih-Lu, gradually enter the ＂about what＂ of its discourse, and lastly fulfill its present meaning for us.
