Gloria NAYLOR, a famous contemporary American black woman writer rewrote six stories of the women in the Bible in her Bailey's Café, subverting the corresponding female images dominated by patriarchal society. By this, NAYLOR exposed that being whores or saintesses were made, not born. Meanwhile, NAYLOR examined factors that influenced sexuality and sexual identity of black females, and indicated a changing and multiple identity of sexuality for black women.
