RESEARCH ON THE IMPACT OF ADOPTION OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY SOCIALIZED SERVICES ON THE RELATIVE POVERTY OF RURAL HOUSEHOLDS

To construct the mechanism of relative poverty governance for rural households in the new era, we should change the existing poverty governance concept and formulate a poverty governance strategy led by capacity building. Based on the perspective of feasible capability, this paper explored the impact of the adoption of agricultural machinery socialized services on the relative poverty of rural households and its mechanism. Based on the questionnaire survey data of farmers in Henan Province in 2017, the Logit model and the mediation effect model were used for empirical test. The adoption of agricultural machinery socialized services significantly inhibited the relative poverty of rural households, which was conducive to alleviating the relative poverty of rural households. The incidence of relative poverty of rural households who adopted agricultural machinery socialized services would be reduced by 20.3%. After considering the endogenism, the conclusion was still robust. The mechanism test showed that the adoption of agricultural machinery socialized services alleviated the relative poverty of rural households by increasing social capital accumulation, among which social network and social trust were the main transmission mechanisms. Therefore, we should further improve the supply and demand system of agricultural machinery socialized services, promote farmers to participate in the social division of labor, establish a cohesion mechanism between rural revitalization strategy and relative poverty governance, and alleviate the relative poverty of rural households.
