A Comparative Analysis of the Transformation and Upgrading Paths of Processing Trade in the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta

摘要

After 40 years of accelerated development in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, the transformation and upgrading of processing trade has become a topic of widespread concern and the subject of many Chinese scholars, with rich research results. This article mainly studies the upgrade path of processing trade in the two Chinese economic regions of the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, and compares and analyzes the differences between the upgrade paths of the two different regions through empirical measurement results, and proposes personalized recommendations for different regions based on different experimental results. The research method is to use the micro data of each province (city) included in the two regions to construct an econometric model and use STATA software to conduct empirical testing. Through reading the existing literature and the analysis of the measurement results in this article, the processing trade in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta needs to take different upgrade paths. Among them, the Yangtze River Delta region should focus on increasing R&D to quickly realize the internal transformation of the relational industry. Upgrade method in the other region, the Pearl River Delta should promote the transformation and upgrading of the entire region by improving the overall economic strength of the region.
