摘要

宗教是传统社会的中心，民间信仰更是海外华人的重心。所谓民间信仰，简言之，就是流行于民间所谓的“拜拜”，其特征即相信多神的存在。从早期的华人社会到现今科技发达的时代，马来西亚的华人民间信仰并无没落现象，反观之更是活跃。五条港虽然与其他新村、或乡下地方一样面临人口外流，但在民间信仰的活动之下，带动与活络整个渔村。在有共同性信仰范围内，促进整个社会的凝聚力，以完成一个集体性的目标。本文除了介绍五条港民间信仰之外，并参与当地民间信仰活动，来谈论在人口外流的五条港，其民间信仰带动地方凝聚力现象。

Religion is the focus of a traditional society, and folk beliefs play an important role in the life of overseas Chinese. In short, giving offerings to gods is one of the characteristics of polytheism. From early traditional Chinese society to current technological era, folk beliefs have never faded, on the contrary, they have become more active. Like other villages and rural areas, Sungai Lima is also facing an outflow of population, nevertheless folk beliefs have helped to revitalised the village, and enhanced the cohesion of the entire society towards a collective goal. Apart from introducing the folk beliefs in Sungai Lima, activities related to local folk beliefs, the outflow of population and the phenomenon resulted from folk beliefs will also be discussed.
