The official titles of Dongshou (冬寿) and Zhen (镇) seen in the epitaphs were all awarded by Goguryeo. Dongshou Tomb deliberately avoided the word Pingzhou(平州) because the title given to Murong Huang(慕容皝) by the Eastern Jin Dynasty included "provincial governor of Pingzhou". Zhen once served as the provincial governor of Youzhou(永州) in the Former Qin Dynasty from 371 to 376, and went to Goguryeo around the year 385. Both Dongshou and Zhen had lived in Goguryeo for more than 20 years. The comparison between the inscriptions at the two tombs reflects not only the changes in the way that Goguryeo managed the immigrants from the Central Plains, but also the changes in identification with the regime of Goguryeo of the immigrants from the Central Plains.
