This article assesses the level of high-quality economic development of provinces and cities from 2011-2019 in five major aspects: innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing. and research on the spatial impact of green investment on China's high-quality economic development based on Durbin model. The results are as follows: (1) The high quality development level of China's economy is on the rise, however, considerable differences exist in the level of high quality economic development among provinces and municipalities; (2) The high-quality development level of economy among regions has the spatial spillover effect of green investment in geographical proximity, and it presents spatial aggregation. (3) The influence of green investment on quality economic development is spatially correlated, but this relevance varies depending on the spatial weighting matrix. Lastly, countermeasures are suggested on how green investment can contribute to high-quality economic development.
