大學生社團參與經驗與批判思考能力關係之研究

A Study of the Relationships among Club Experiences and Critical Thinking Skills for College Students' Participation in Clubs

摘要


本研究旨在探究大學生社團參與經驗與批判思考能力的關係,採用混合研究設計,量化部分採用問卷調查法,選定北部某國立大學學生為施測樣本,以社團負責人會議、通識中心所開設之思考相關課程、哲學相關課程、軍訓課程為研究場域,有效施測樣本為367人。並編製「大學生社團參與經驗與批判思考能力量表」為研究工具,運用描述性統計、單因子變異數分析等統計分析方法,此外並針對量化研究結果,進行質化訪談,探究學生大學生社團參與經驗與批判思考能力之關係。研究結果分述如下:(一)個人背景方面,不同性別、年級、父母教育程度之大學生,其批判思考能力有顯著差異,其中女生批判思考能力得分顯著高於男生;四年級、三年級顯著高於二年級;父母教育程度為大專的學生顯著高於高中職以下。(二)社團參與經驗部分,參與不同社團類型、時數、年資、投入程度之大學生,其批判思考能力有顯著差異,且參與學術、自治性社團者較佳。

The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between college students' club experiences and critical thinking skills. A mixed-method research design and questionnaire survey was adopted for the quantitative study. It takes samples from students of the national university in the north of Taiwan. These students are either leaders of clubs or learners in those curriculums related to thinking, philosophy and military training. A total of 367 valid samples were retrieved. A "Scale of College Student's Club Experience and Critical Thinking skills" is compiled as the instrument of this research. The data were analyzed by statistical methods including descriptive statistics, and one-way ANOVA. For the qualitative study, interviews were conducted based on the quantitative results, in order to analyze the relationships among club experiences and critical thinking skills for college students. The findings are as follows: 1. The difference in critical thinking skills among the students with different personal background such as gender, grade and parents' education status, is significant statistically. In terms of the score in this ability, female is higher than male, senior and junior are higher than sophomore, and parents with undergraduate degree is higher than those with lower education level. 2. The difference in critical thinking skills among the students with different society experience in terms of type of club, hours of participation, years of participation, and the extent of involvement, is significant statistically. The critical thinking skills of the members of academy and autonomy types of clubs are better than those in other types of clubs.
