With Chinese folk dance as the dissemination content, the paper discusses the path and method of cross-cultural dance teaching to students from different cultural contexts. Based on the author's self experience as an "outsider" studying at Beijing Dance Academy and through participant-observation in the classroom, this paper conducts a preliminary exploration of the cross-cultural teaching methods of Chinese folk dance from several aspects. The difficulties encountered will be presupposed, suggests methods for cross-cultural teaching, and the role of teachers and students played in cross-cultural teaching-namely will be discuss. This paper hopes to provide new insights to enhance the cross-cultural teaching and communication of Chinese folk dance.
