論韓國學術界對臺灣人間佛教的解讀與認識

摘要

筆者曾經寫過有關韓國佛教與臺灣佛教現況比較方面的論文，提出如下的觀點：過去一百年，雖然韓國佛教與臺灣佛教經歷了相似的歷史過程，即被日本統治了數十年，亦有戒嚴時期的獨裁政治，以及受到反共政策與親美統治的影響，同時皆經歷了僧難事件之歷史傷痕。然而，當今兩國佛教界呈現出來的風貌截然不同。臺灣佛教幾十年的發展變遷中，通過對傳統山林佛教的反思，人間佛教早已成為主流，體現出兩性平等、僧俗平等、成就社會。同時重視學術教育、培育人才，推動佛學發展。又在弘法方式上，全方位、多元化地走進群衆，最後走上多元化、現代化、國際化的道路。這就象徵著佛教在臺灣宗教中佔據主導地位，提升了臺灣佛教的軟實力。最近十餘年來韓國佛教界開始關注和矚目臺灣人間佛教的勃興，並思考這麼短的時間裡臺灣佛教是如何驚人地發展成為亞洲佛教典範的。2011年韓國佛教界出現了非常有趣的現象，湧現出眾多研究和學習臺灣人間佛教之人。可以說，2011年是韓國佛教界徹底學習臺灣佛教之年。總之，幾年來韓國佛教界通過各種方式，如學術研討會、參訪巡禮、文章介紹等，借鑑臺灣「人間佛教」理念和多元化的布教方式、現代化經驗，追求擺脫山林佛教的陳舊形象，要樹立與時俱進的嶄新形象。若能夠落實這些改革措施，不僅有助於幫助韓國佛教重新發展，而且還能推動東亞地區的和平交流和佛學發展。

I have written on the comparison of Buddhism between Korea and Taiwan and put forward these points: in the last hundred years, Buddhism in both regions had gone through a similar path, i.e. being colonized by Japan for several decades, suffered from military persecution and anti-communist and pro-American polices, and historical turbulence like sangha tragedy, but they are now different in a huge way. Over the last several decades, after reflections on the traditional forest Buddhism, Humanistic Buddhism have been the mainstream Buddhism in Taiwan, it shows equality in gender, in clerics and the laity, and serving society. In the meantime, they promote Buddhism through education, especially producing more scholars of Buddhism. On the methods of propagating Buddhism, they have an all-round and multi-formed approach, making Buddhism enter people's life in modern, internationalized and multiple ways. This all enhances the soft-power of Taiwanese Buddhism. In recent ten years or so, Korean Buddhists started to take notice of the flourishing of Taiwanese Humanistic Buddhism and ponder how Taiwanese Buddhism became the exemplary model of Buddhist development in Asia in such a short period. It is interesting that in 2011 learning and studying Taiwanese Humanistic Buddhism become popular among Korean Buddhists, we can even say that 2011 was the year for Korean Buddhists to follow Taiwanese Buddhism.
