In order to remedy the land subsidence and water quality problems caused by aquiculture and swine productions, this report first briefly introduces the seriousness of the problems and the current management policies. Subsequently, the author makes twelve recommendations to the proper authorities in Taiwan on improving the future aquiculture and swine productions. These recommendations include intensive aquiculture, algae production, aquiculture site preference, renewable energy development, natural recreation elaboration, swine site alternative, satellite imagery application, geographic information system utilization, balance between development and regulation, west region, subsided land management, east region, improvement of policy implementation, and amendments of out-of-date laws.
