舞蹈展演與文化外交：台灣早期舞蹈團體國外展演之研究－以西元1968年中華民國舞蹈團為例

國民政府遷台以後，國際政局詭譎，爭取世界各國的認可便爲外交重點。而文化藝術的國際交流展演，不僅展現出中華民國的藝術成就與自由景象，更以非正式途徑對外宣揚強化國家形象，成爲當時的重要外交策略。舞蹈在跨文化展演時易跨越語言隔閡，兼具文化展示與國際宣傳的作用，而成爲國家經常選派出國的藝術活動。西元1968年中華民國舞蹈團從籌組、訓練，及至到墨西哥奧運的文化展覽與美加巡演，便爲一次以國號命名的浩大文化外交活動。本研究兼採史料蒐集法（Judith A. Chapman, 1986; Joan W. White, 1986）、史學編纂法（Keith Jenkins, 1996）、深度訪談分析法（趙星光，2004; James A. Holstein & Jabber F. Gubrium, 1998; Jody Miller & Barry Glassner, 1998），以及舞蹈符號學（Jacob Zelinger, 1994）方法進行研究，歸納並分析其舞蹈節目、出訪規劃與國際宣傳重點，以探討此次舞蹈展演在台灣舞蹈發展與文化外交層面的影響與意義。

After the KMT government migrating to Taiwan, it is important to obtain the official recognitions of other nations in the changeful international politics. Not only display the achievement of arts and liberal atmosphere but also propagate the image of R.O.C in informal way, the international communications and performances of the Arts became an important diplomatic strategy. Because dance can overcome the barrier of languages in cross-cultural performances, also provide cultural exhibition and international propaganda, it became one of most popular activities assigned to abroad by KMT government. The arrangement, training and performances of the Republic of China Dance Company in Mexico Olympics and following tour in US and Canada is one of the biggest cultural diplomacy activities which official named by nation. This paper will adopt collection of materials (Judith A. Chapman, 1986; Joan W. White, 1986), historiography (Keith Jenkins,1996), In-depth interview(趙星光, 2004; James A. Holstein & Jabber F. Gubrium,1998; Jody Miller & Barry Glassner,1998) and dance semeiology(Jacob Zelinger,1994) research methods to analyze the dance program, arrangement and the focus of international propaganda. In order to explorer the influences and meanings of the Republic of China Dance Company in both dance development and cultural diplomacy perspectives.
