睡眠呼吸照護產業之競爭策略與商業模式—以個案公司為例

摘要


睡眠已成為現代人生活質量的重要指標,而老化、肥胖與大眾對疾病認識的提升都帶動了睡眠呼吸照護產業需求的增加,治療與輔助醫療器材的商機相應擴大,而台灣相關醫療器材企業多以代工或經銷為主,具有獲利能力,然而以長期競爭優勢的角度而言較欠缺原創性。本研究欲探討台灣睡眠呼吸照護產業廠商如何以研發與創新為基礎,創造競爭優勢和利基點,以應對全球市場態勢。 本研究將以台灣一睡眠呼吸照護產業的醫療器材公司為例,分析該個案公司的競爭優勢、核心競爭力與商業模式。經研究發現,個案公司擁有良好的研發能力與獨特技術原理的治療產品,創新產品差異化策略加上完整的專利佈局,具有可為企業帶來利潤的價值性,以及不可被模仿的特性。商業模式方面以創新獨有的產品為核心,整合睡眠呼吸照護產業各階段產品與服務,由檢測到治療與後續治療追蹤服務,提升附加價值並可藉核心技術創造多元營收。

Sleep quality has become an important indicator of the quality of life for modern people. Aging, obesity and public's awareness of the sleep-disordered breathing(SDB) disease also have led to a rising demand for SDB care industry. The commercial opportunities for SDB treatment and related medical products have increased accordingly. While the business model for most of profitable medical device companies in Taiwan focus on OEM or distribution services, lack of originality could be a concern in long-term development. In this regard, the goal of this study is to discuss how Taiwan company in SDB care industry to compete global market based on R&D innovation. This study will take a Taiwan medical device company in the SDB care industry as an example to analyze and discuss its competitive advantage, core competence and business model. In summary, the study shows that the case company has good R&D capabilities and innovative products; the differentiation strategy and strategic patent deployment also enhance the value and contribute to the non-substitution of the company. The business model focus on integrating innovative products and services at all stages of the sleep-disorder breathing care industry through its core technologies.
