The changes in the US-China trade war, the global spread of COVID-19, the rapid evolution of technology, brain drain, and energy shortages have hit the global economy and lifestyles and affected the global semiconductor industry, making the industry competition getting more intense. Taiwan is world-renowned for its wafer fabricating industry. It is worth exploring how this industry can maintain its core position in the global supply chain and competitive edge under the influence of the unstable international political and economic situation and the changes in the supply chain. This research employs a case study strategy, taking TSMC as an example. For the wafer fabricating industry and TSMC's related technologies, markets, competitors, and international situations, the analytical methods such as PEST, SWOT, and Porter five forces are used to discuss. The research findings reveal the critical factors of the industry strategy and conclude with recommendations for TSMC's industrial strategy.
