智慧型手機圖像辨識率與滿意度之評估研究

摘要


智慧型手機具有手機的小巧體積、PDA的強大功能,但是在這麼小的空間內,要放進這麼多的功能,其人機介面的研究就顯得相當重要。 本研究旨在探討智慧型手機功能圖像之辨識率與偏好滿意度,以目前市面上前三大手機作業系統之功能圖像為受測樣本,依據其視覺設計要素建立形態要素分析表,分析現今的圖像設計趨勢,並藉由圖像辨識率以及偏好滿意度的評估結果與建構出的圖像形態要素進行分析,歸納圖像的優劣所具有之特性。另外,本研究將受測者分為有設計背景與無設計背景之人員兩大類,主要目的即在評估兩族群間是否存在圖像認知上的差異,設計師可以根據差異的結果作為往後設計圖像時的參考,避免產生設計上的鴻溝。    本研究主要發現如下: 1.具有高辨識率的圖像有下列幾種特徵:「圖示符號」較能傳達功能訊息與語意;已約定俗成的圖像符號具有高辨識率;適當的「輔助圖形」可以增加圖像之辨識率;使用「整體的」圖像主體具有高辨識率。 2.造成混淆的原因可以概分成四種:不同功能意義,但圖像類似者;不同圖像,但字面功能意義相似者;圖像與功能意義沒關係;圖像本身有錯誤的暗示性。 3.設計背景差異方面,辨識率及錯誤率的部分差異不顯著,無設計背景的受測者混淆情形較為分散;具設計背景的受測者混淆情形較為集中。在未答率方面,無設計背景的受測者高於具設計背景的受測者,容易發生混淆的情形。 4.圖像辨識率與偏好滿意度之間具有高度的正相關,辨識率高的圖像同時具有高的偏好滿意度。

Smart phone is a mobile phone with a small body size and strong PDA’s features. The key development of a smart phone should be focused on how to improve graphics user interface (GUI) for present products, because of multitudinously functions in the limited size. This study aims to explore recognition and satisfaction of icons on Smart phone. It used the questionnaires to survey the icons of the top three common smart phone operating systems then set up a morphological analytical table based on visual design elements of icons to analyze the current tendency of icon design. The study tries to conclude the characters of icon design through analyzing results of icon recognition and satisfaction evaluation and morphological elements. Besides, the testers are categorized into two groups: design background and non-design background, to evaluate the cognitive difference between two groups. This research results provide good references for icon designers in the future and avoid the gap between designers and users. The results are as below: 1.The characteristics of high recognition icons are: (1)”Symbolic icons” convey functional messages and dictions (2) Icons are accepted through conventions with higher recognitions (3) Appropriate “assistant feature” is significantly facilitates recognizing the meaning of icon (4) Using ”entire” icons. 2.The main reasons which icons could be confused are probably: (1) Visual images are too similar (2) Icons with similar function meaning (3) There is no relation between icon and it’s function meaning (4) The icon itself conveys the wrong implications. 3.There are no significant cognitive differences between design and non-design background testers,but confusing situation of testers with non-design background is more scattered than people with design background .The testers with non-design background have lower answer rate than people with design background and easy occur confusing situation. 4.There is a positive correlation between icon recognition and satisfaction. But, there are significant differences between the factor of “design quality” and icon recognition.
