單偶氮染料於電濕潤顯示器的應用

摘要


本研究主要在製備一系列電濕潤顯示器適用之疏水性偶氮染料。先將苯胺和1-萘胺分別與1-碘辛烷反應製得偶合成份DIOA和NDIOA,再將4-甲基苯胺(I)、4-正丁基苯胺(II)、4-正葵基苯胺(III)等重氮成份,經重氮化後分別與偶合成份DIEA(A)、DEA(B)、DTM(C)、DIOA(D)、NDIOA(E)和1-萘胺(NA)進行偶合反應製得一系列疏水性單偶氮染料。所合成的疏水性單偶氮皆經傅利葉紅外線光譜儀、核磁共振儀、質譜與元素分析光譜來確定其化學結構,同時探討染料在十二烷溶劑中的溶解度以及外光/可見光吸收光譜。 結果顯示,染料I-D、染料II-D以及染料III-D對十二烷溶解度皆達到70%,染料 III-A與II-A對十二烷的溶解度也可達到20%與13%,顯示染料分子的長鏈烷基鏈長越長溶解度越好,「甲氧基」與「乙酰胺基」等極性基團越多,染料對十二烷溶解度越低。自製染料皆為黃色系列,如搭配適合的洋紅色與青色系列染料可應用於電濕潤全彩顯示器上。

The aim of this research is that we are going to synthesize a series of the hydrophobic azo dyes for electrowetting displays. The couplers of DIOA and NDIOA have been prepared by reaction of aniline and 1-aminonaphthalene with 1-iodooctant. These compounds were prepared for the further reaction use. In this research a series of the hydrophobic monoazo dyes have been prepared by the coupling of diazotized 4-methylaniline(I), 4-butylaniline(II), 4-dectylaniline(III) with DIEA(A), DEA(B), DTM(C), DIOA(D), DINOA(E) and 1-Naphthylamin(NA). The resulting hydrophobic monoazo dyes were subjected to mass, Elemental Analysis, FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectra and their color characteristics were studies by using UV/Vis spectrum. The solubility in n-dodecane (w/v%) of these dyes was also evaluated. The results showed that Dye I-D, Dye II-D and Dye III-D of these synthetic dyes have good solubility of 70%(w/v%) in n-dodecane. Dye III-A of these synthetic dyes has the solubility 20%(w/v%) in n-dodecane and Dye II-A has 13%(w/v%) in n-dodecane. From the results we can find that the dyes contain the longer alkyl-chain will get better solubility in n-dodecane. However, these dyes contain the more polar group of acetylamino group and methoxy group will reduce the solubility in n-dodecane. In this research we have synthesis a series of yellow dyes. If matches a series of suitable cyan and magenta dyes, that could be used for full color electrowetting display.
