摘要


一般Blue Phase出現於Isotropic liquid phase 及膽石醇相之間,且存在的溫度範圍非常窄,使得Blue Phase在應用上受到限制。因此,本實驗將利用UV硬化型單體與液晶之混合物,於UV光照射下使單體間產生交聯反應,以穩定液晶分子排列,增加藍相溫度範圍。研究高分子結構下藍相的變化及光電特性,並藉由單官能基(EHA)、雙官能基(HDDA)、三官能基(TMPTA)之不同單體,不同單體含量及不同UV曝光量..等,對固定Blue Phase溫度範圍的影響進行探討,而由實驗中,我們發現三官能基單體的型態對立方體晶格排列的藍相能夠產生非常好的穩定效果。

In general, Blue Phase(BP) appears between the isotropic liquid phase and the chiral nematic phase . The application of the BP is limited because of its narrow temperature range. . In this study, a composite system consisting of a UV curable monomer and a low-molecular-weight liquid crystals was prepare. and exposured by UV light to stabilize liquid crystals molecular The temperature range of the Blue phase is increased after the exposure of UV light . We investigated the change of the Blue Phase in polymer network and electro-optical properties. The influence of the polymer networks to the temperature range of the Blue phase was discussed by change the monomer type, weight percent of the monomer and the intensity of the UV radiation.. It is expectable to widen the temperature range of the Blue Phase
