專利分析與技術生命週期預測之研究-以顯示科技之薄膜電晶體液晶顯示器為例

摘要


知識經濟時代,知識將成為經濟成長的主要動力,專利作為智慧財產的指標之一,適合衡量企業的競爭潛力及技術與創新的績效。在大量生產與快速製造的模式下,商品價格快速滑落,將以製造代工為主的國內企業帶入『微利時代』。如何產生、利用、與維護知識產權及專利來創造附加價值,已成為重要關鍵所在。 專利為保障企業研發成果之重要制度,國內業者在國際大廠一次次的專利訴訟下,逐漸意識到專利佈局與保護的重要性,並積極在國際主要市場申請專利。雖然專利件數逐漸上升,權利金的給付與訴訟案件卻仍高居不下,表示專利的品質與數量,仍無法涵蓋國內業者的技術與產品。 本研究以TFT LCD產業為例,從專利地圖分析的角度,來觀察TFT LCD產業技術發展狀況,運用相關工具Logistic成長模型、Fisher-Pry模型與Gompertz成長模型來預測技術生命週期的發展趨勢。本研究結果發現,TFT LCD技術已歩入技術成熟期階段,TFT LCD技術已有相當的穩定度,價格、品質與服務將是未來競爭的關鍵。

In the age of knowledge-based Economy, knowledge will become the main motive power of economic growth. Patent, as one of the indicators of intellectual properties, is suitable for measuring the competitive potential, technology capabilities, and innovation performance of corporations. In the mode of mass production and fast manufacturing, the price of goods decrease drastically and driving the Taiwanese corporations into a low profit margin age. How to invest on intellectual properties to increase the add-on value is the key to success. Taiwanese companies had applied for patents in many countries, but the payout on licensing fee and litigation are still in high level. This phenomenon demonstrates that the qualities and quantities of the patents are still not competitive enough for Taiwanese companies. This thesis focuses on TFT LCD technology. By analyzing the patents filed in US Patent Office, technological life cycle on TFT LCD technologies are generated based on three different models. The result reveals that TFT LCD technology stepped into mature stage. Therefore, its price, quality and service will be the key points in the future competition.
