師友制度實施歷程與學習成效之研究 ─以元智大學YeSir師友計畫為例

The Study of Practical Process of Mentorship and Mentees’ Learning Efficiency-The YeSir Mentorship Program in Yuan-Ze University

摘要


綜觀英美與香港等地一流大學都有推動「師友制度」,此制度對學生在大學階段拓展生涯視野與活化學習經驗有具體助益。國內則由元智大學首創YeSir師友計畫,透過社會賢達及校友帶領該校學生,以拓展個人視野,啟動生涯發展契機。本研究即以該校第一屆師友計畫122位導生為實證對象,經由行動研究並結合質性與量性的研究方法,具體了解導生參加師友計畫之學習成效,及其受業師之實質影響,期間共得104份有效問卷,經分析之後歸納出下列四項重要結論: 一、師友計畫對於大學院校引進社會資源、創新學務工作及強化菁英培育,具有非凡意義及有價貢獻。元智大學師友計畫之業師為無給職,義務帶領導生一年,業師重新整理過往經驗,與導生互動,讓導生提前與社會接軌,該校導生在此計畫下獲益匪淺,經由本研究學習成效調查結果獲得印證。 二、導生具有主動積極學習精神,認同與喜歡師友計畫所提供「亦師亦友」近距離學習氛圍,對本計畫將會有強烈參與動機。 三、導生參加師友計畫,學習成效最高的前四項依序為「業師價值觀與生命故事的分享」、「尋求學習標竿與楷模」、「擴展個人視野及國際視野」及「促進個人生涯發展」。 四、導生受業師影響最深且目前已採取具體行動項目為「業師的生涯經驗,已成為我做生涯規劃的參考指標」、「現在比較積極克服生活及學習的障礙」及「開始上網關心國內外重要新聞及各類訊息」。 綜合上述結論,本研究建議各大學院校可以積極建立師友制度,藉由校外業師的帶領,將可拓展學生的個人及國際視野,並提早與世界接軌,促進職涯發展,而導生將以業師為楷模,見賢思齊,對未來會採取更積極主動的作為。

Many outstanding universities in countries such as Hong Kong, Britain, and America run a “Mentorship” program. This program enables students to broaden their views by learning outside the textbooks. In Taiwan, Yuan-Ze University (YZU) is the first institution of higher education which promotes the “YeSir Mentorship Program”. YZU invited social elites and graduates to be its students’ mentors in order to expand the students’ perspectives on life and to inspire them for their future career developments. This concrete research is to investigate the learning motivation and learning efficiency of Mentees who attended the YeSir Mentorship Program. It also examines the actual influence of Mentors on Mentees. The research subjects were 122 Mentees who attended the first-year YeSir Mentorship Program. By using Action Research Method together with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, 104 valid questionnaires were collected. After the analysis, five important conclusions were made. The conclusions are as follows: 1.The remarkable significance and worthy contribution of YeSir mentorship program is to lead the resources of society in universities, innovate the development of student affairs, and strengthen the nurturing of outstanding students. The mentors of YeSir mentorship program are voluntarily leading students for one year without payment. Mentors reorganize their life experience in the past and share it during the interaction with mentees. In other words, mentees have the earlier opportunity to contact with real society and therefore are benefited from this program. Their highly learning efficiency was proved by this investigation. 2.Mentees take active learning approaches and are initiative-taking learners. Mentees find YeSir mentorship program attractive because the program provides an atmosphere in which close mentorships are developed. Mentors are both teachers and friends to mentees at the same time. As a result, mentees have intense motivation to participate in this program. 3.Among all the learning achievements evaluated in this research, the achievements made with the highest learning efficiency are as follows: “values of Mentors and their sharing of life stories”, “quests for learning models”, “expansions of personal views of life and internationalization”, and “pursuit of personal career and life development”. 4.Among all the learning achievements evaluated in this research, the ones that mentees have already taken actions under the highest level of influences from mentors are: “the career experience of Mentor has become my criterion of the career plan”, “I would be more actively to overcome the obstacle of life and learning” , and “I would start to concern about the important international and national news and the variety of message through internet information”. To conclude, the result of this research encourages other universities to actively promote Mentorship programs. With mentors’ guidance, students’ should be able to have well-expanded views of life and better internationalization experiences. Through the program, students can obtain earlier and better access to real-world education, and can therefore be inspired to advance their career development plans at an early stage. Moreover, mentees will take mentors as their life models and tend to take more initiatives for their futures.
