從設計研究所歷屆試題與論文題目走向探討進階設計教育的發展趨勢

The Development for Advanced Education of Design in Taiwan by Exploring the Entrance Examination and the Master’s Thesis

摘要


設計相關的研究所越來越多,表示進階設計教育正逐漸受到重視,並有其市場需求,本研究將探討近十年間(民國84~93學年度),學界在進階設計教育的轉變。本研究將專注於空間設計、工業設計、視覺傳達設計等三大設計領域。本研究目的有三:(1) 調查各設計研究所歷屆試題以瞭解入學考題的內容與出題方向;(2) 分析論文題目探討設計研究所畢業論文選題的內容與研究方向;(3) 探討學術界進階設計教育的發展趨勢。   本研究以質與量綜整之研究方式進行,共分為三個階段:(1) 個別電話訪談法,找出國內較具指標性設計研究所;(2) 歸納整理設計研究所近十年的歷屆試題與論文題目;(3) 深度訪談法,探究教授在出題與訂定研究方向時的考量,藉此透析國內進階設計教育的發展趨勢。   入學考試的出題方向:(1)空間設計領域:燈光、照明、物理環控、音響、設計方法、造形原理、色彩學、設計史、設計理論;(2) 工業設計領域:設計實務、設計人因與認知,並著重造形能力、創意、審美與分析問題的能力;(3) 視覺傳達設計領域:色彩理論題目較明確、易命題,平面設計、設計評論沒有標準答案容易發揮,並可反應學生的想法與學養。未來研究主題趨勢:(1)空間設計領域:空間認知心理、使用後評估、社區總體營造;(2) 工業設計領域:文化創意設計、愉悅性設計、設計美學、感性工學、認知人因、消費行為、生活型態、通用設計、設計決策、電腦輔助設計;(3) 視覺傳達設計領域:偏向「應用的研究」、設計的本質,另外理論、設計史、符號學有關的議題也仍待研究,「網頁設計」「通用設計」也都是很重要的議題。

There are more and more design-related graduate programs founded, which means that the designer’s advanced education and development have been placed with more importance gradually, and there is the market demand. This study will explore the transformation on the designer’s advanced education in the academic field during the past 10 years (1995~2004 academic year). The research focuses on the three major domains which include interior design, industrial design and visual communication. Other design branches are excluded in this study.   This research will achieve three goals: (1) To understand the criteria and trend of examination questions of design graduate programs by reviewing the questions of the entrance exam in previous years. (2) To understand the threshold of obtaining a Master Degree by analyzing the topics of Master theses. (3) To discuss the tendency of design graduate programs in academic field.   This study is done by both qualitative and quantitative researches and covers three phases: (1) To conduct telephone interviews separately, and ask for scholars with distinguished reputation to recommend representative design graduate programs in Taiwan. (2) To follow content analysis as a model to induce the questions of the entrance exam and the topics of master theses during the past 10 years. (3) To quote the quantitative results as the foundation of in-depth interviews, in order to explore professors’ consideration when they develop questions and decide the goals of research to understand future trends of designer’s advanced education in country.   The tendency of the entrance exam includes: (1) Spatial design field: lighting, physical environment control, stereo, design method, modeling principle, chromatology, design history, design theory, etc. (2) Industrial design field: design practice, design human factors and cognition; emphasis on modeling ability, creativity, appreciation of the beauty and the ability to analyze problems in practical domain. (3) Visual communication field: the questions of “chromatic theory” are more specific and easy to formulate, but it doesn’t have any standard answer for layout design and design critics, which is easier to elaborate and can reflect students’ thoughts and knowledge.   Future research topics involve: (1) Spatial design field: spatial cognitive psychology, after-use evaluation, community infrastructure establishment. (2) Industrial design field: cultural creative design, affective design, kansei engineering, cognitive human factors, consumer behavior, life style, universal design, design decision making, CAD. (3) Visual communication field: it tends to the nature of “application research” and design. Besides, relative researches of design theory, design history and semiology also need to be explored. “Webpage design” and “general design” are very important issues as well.
