羅傑•奎爾特 (Roger Quilter, 1871-1953) 為英國愛德華七世時期 (Edward VII, 1841-1910,1901-1910在位) 優秀的藝術歌曲作曲家。《七首伊麗莎白時期詩歌》，作品第12號，譜寫於1907年，詩詞題材以描寫愛情為主，完整表現奎爾特將英國古詩與音樂融合的巧妙。本文分為六個章節作論述：第一章為緒論，包括研究動機與目的、研究範圍與方法。第二章概述英國伊麗莎白一世(Elizabeth I, 1533-1603,1558-1603在位)之生平與伊麗莎白時期社會文化。第三章探究英國藝術歌曲，包括英國音樂的發展：九世紀至二十世紀，以及英國詩詞的格律。第四章分析作曲家羅傑•奎爾特與其音樂風格。第五章《七首伊麗莎白時期詩歌 Op.12》樂曲研究，包括分析旋律與和聲、詩詞的格律以及演唱詮釋。第六章為筆者研究此論文後之結論等。參考了國內外相關書籍、期刊、論文、大英百科全書線上參考書以及有聲資料進行研究與探討。

Roger Quilter (1871-1953) was an outstanding British art song composer in Edward VII times (1941-1910). “Seven Elizabeth Lyrics ”, Op.12 was composed in 1907 which was about love. Quilter perfectly merged British poem and music together in this song set. There are six chapters in this thesis. Chapter One is the introduction. The researcher describes the motivation, the region and the methodology of the study. Chapter Two is about the life of Elizabeth I and the culture at that time. The researcher describes the development of British music and the rhyme of British poem in Chapter Three. Chapter Four is about Roger Quilter’s music style. Chapter Five is the analysis and interpretation of “Seven Elizabeth Lyrics ”, Op.12. Result of the study is revealed in Chapter Six. The research of this thesis is based on Chinese and English reference books, journals, other researchers’ theses, Britannica Encyclopedia and audio references.
