《少年吸血鬼阿曼德》英譯中研究：理論與實務

本論文主旨為（一）從摘譯The Vampire Armand《少年吸血鬼阿曼德》一書的翻譯經驗，探討翻譯過程中所運用之翻譯技巧，（二）將譯文與現有中譯本作比較分析，以「服務讀者」為著眼，討論中譯本（洪譯本）當中有何需要改進之問題。緒論主要探討本論文之研究動機、研究目的與研究方法。中譯本評介部分介紹本書原作者與書本內容，以及中譯本譯者與譯作。翻譯實務探討分為兩部分，首先為背景知識部分，介紹筆者摘譯此書時所遇到不同領域的背景知識範例；翻譯實務探討的第二部分為問題分析，介紹筆者翻譯時使用之翻譯技巧，以及探討中譯本當中存在的譯文問題如何解決與改譯。最後一章為結論。附錄包括筆者摘譯之章節譯文。筆者指出：成功的文學作品翻譯，除了忠實傳達原文以外，還要譯得生動，並且利用各種翻譯技巧去除翻譯腔，盡可能達到適度歸化翻譯的效果，如此才能使讀者能夠通順流暢地閱讀。

The purpose of this thesis is two-fold: one is to discuss translation skills used in the process of translation through translating The Vampire Armand; another is to compare the translation with the published Chinese version in order to understand the existing problems under “readers-oriented” principle. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Introduction deals with motivation, purpose, and methodology for writing this thesis. Next chapter is the brief introduction of the author and the content of The Vampire Armand, and the translator of the Chinese version. The content of Translation practice is divided into two parts; first part is to discuss the background knowledge from multiple fields in the process of translating; the second part includes the discussion of translation skills used in the process of translating, and the analysis of existing problems in the published Chinese version of the source text that readers may encounter. The final chapter is the conclusion. An appendix of my translation of The Vampire Armand is followed after the final chapter. A successful translation of literature text, besides being faithful to the source text, needs to be read vividly; a good translator must use different translation skills to prevent translationese, and do his/her best to achieve appropriate “domestication” translation in order to make target readers read it more easily and more comfortably.
