新聞英語英譯中研究：以台灣出版的雜誌翻譯文本為例

新聞媒體每日將世界各地的訊息帶給每個地方的讀者，往往使閱聽者可從新聞訊息的字裡行間感受與認識這個瞬息萬變世界的腳步。
本論文包括緒論與結論，共有六章。第一章緒論說明研究之動機與方法。第二章文獻探討闡述和評論與本論文相關的文獻資料。第三章從翻譯策略與背景知識來看國際新聞之英譯中。第四章則從語意、句法和文意看國際新聞之英譯中。第五章介紹新聞英語相關之教學與學習書籍。第六章為結論。
論文中選取了目前市面上雜誌附有中文譯文之《CNN互動英語》雜誌內容來討論；也選取《經濟學人》當中之新聞評論來作翻譯技巧上之研究。另外，由於《CNN互動英語》雜誌是為英語學習者而設計，因此在論文當中，也有部分內容討論了英語學習與教學及其與翻譯之關係。
論文當中，筆者應用了韋努提之所提出的歸化翻譯為本論文之翻譯策略，著重於語言層面上之討論，中文譯文以忠實詳細並符合中文母語者之閱讀習慣為目標。本論文在背景知識上以及語意、句法和文意之翻譯技巧上有較多的探討。翻譯技巧的討論則包括有語意精確、增詞、單複數、代名詞實質化、誤譯、中英語法歧異、語序、被動、時態、耳聽目視、語意完備、隱喻、上下文原則、四字套語等論述。

Abstract
Journalistic English is very important, because readers can obtain various precious information from the sources. This thesis consists of a couple of parts including introduction and conclusion. The first part relates to the author’s motivation and method for writing this thesis. The second part deals with the literary materials used or cited in this thesis. The third chapter talks about how to read and evaluate international news through translation strategy and background knowledge focusing on the part of English to Chinese translation. Part four deals with English to Chinese translation of journalistic English from the perspective of their meaning, sentence and grammatical analysis. The fifth part introduces the author’s opinions on teaching and learning of journalistic English through the study of journalistic English books.
The author uses a couple of magazines and books on journalistic English, especially those designed for students’ study including some news reports and commentary from CNN Interactive English Magazine and Economist. CNN Interactive English Magazine is designed for readers who learn and study journalistic English, therefore my thesis also deals with this part.
Theoretically speaking, this essay uses Venuti’s domestication and foreignization strategies of translation. The author of the thesis spends large space on the comments of translation and language. The author emphasizes the importance of loyalty and target readers’ reading habits. The author also gives spaces for talking about background knowledge, grammar and meanings of each sentences and paragraph from the view point of translation theory. In order to translate journalistic English into Chinese effectively and to prevent mistakes made through translation, the translators must fulfil the goals of the precision of the meaning, skills of adding words and phrases, be careful about plural and singular forms and make sure the meaning of each pronoun, the difference of Chinese and English, the word order of each sentence, distinguish passive and active voices, and pay attention to tenses and context. The author hopes that this thesis will be helpful for those who are interested in journalistic English translation and journalistic English pedagogy.
