三維內容產生器暨方筒鏡設計之研究

摘要


因應3D(Three-dimensional)資訊時代的來臨,立體影像和顯示設備要同步發展,現市面上無有效的2D轉3D技術;另一方面,顯示技術不一,相容的3D影片分歧多變,提供3D影片給任一顯示器來播放為目前熱門的研究主題。本論文研究一新穎設計—方筒鏡(Square-Tube-Mirror, STM)是以其擷取二維影像,利用電腦計算重建3D模型,能還原深度資訊(Depth map),更能直接提供立體影像(Stereoscopic image),是極具潛力的3D內容產生器。 方筒鏡擁有簡單的外表和參數,需視應用考量挑選適合的尺寸。許多外在變因例如:加工誤差、初始量測誤差等等,使得影像不盡理想,吾人便陸續設計了一系列方筒鏡,以精進像質、提升性能。本論文是敘述此一設計流程。 單一方筒鏡的性能畢竟有其極限,吾人探討它的優劣良弊,於文末提出兩項改進裝置:方筒鏡鏡組(STM-lens)和方筒鏡相機(STM-camera),設計流程與考量也列於其中,供本團隊後續研發之用。

To greet the 3D (three dimensional) era, the technologies of 3D content generation and 3D display should be available. However, there are not many powerful technologies to convert 2D films to 3D now. Moreover, different kinds of displays have their own formats to present 3D films. It's a challenge to create universal 3D contents for all display platforms. We study a Square-Tube-Mirror (STM) device to capture multiple 2D images simultaneously. 3D contents can then be generated by building the depth map thought a reconstruction process. Stereoscopic image is also obtained during the process. To design a STM, the following difficulties such as measurement error and manufacturing error are encountered at the evaluation stage. The objective of this thesis is to provide a design flow and demonstrate a few models, “STM-lens” and “STM-camera”. The advantages and disadvantages of the models are discussed at the end, Future research and development are undergoing.
