摘要

To become a volunteer is a very special decision. It is a quality embedded in some people. It is a special trait to take upon a task without expecting any payment. At TSMC, as well as in other companies, the CSR development includes high standards of sharing and interest for the good of the community. This CSR analysis is based on company performance and social satisfaction. At TSMC, Corporate Social Responsibility covers all the company’s goals as well as its community and environmental perspectives. The volunteers at TSMC contribute largely to the proper distribution of CSR, to the community in general. More specifically, while serving the company during their personal time off. The eagerness found in each one of the volunteers at TSMC, is the reflection of the loyalty to a community and a company. This study was done through an investigation conducted by interviews and surveys. The questions for the surveys were based on preliminary short studies, interviewing some of the volunteers in advance. During the entire time I was doing my research, language wasn’t a barrier thanks to the help of some translators inside the same group, and my bits and pieces of knowledge with the Chinese language. The results can be summarized under the following conclusions: 1) In terms of education, TSMC is serving a well-developed CSR service to the community, through employees whom are involved in the program. 2) The Volunteer program at TSMC is well structured and may always be improved according to the goals determined by the company and the group of volunteers participating in it. 3) The volunteers receive a high level of satisfaction from both the community and the company. 4) The program had integrated their employees, and their relatives, while serving the community in a response towards CSR around Taiwan.
