Smooth and User-Friendly Navigation of 3D Environments in Web Browser Platform

摘要


瀏覽器上新的3D應用如雨後春筍般發展,然而傳統的3D導航工具不僅需要大量的學習,更容易產生錯誤,令使用者混淆。不同於傳統CAD工具的使用者,我們針對一般網際網路使用者的需求,設計了一套適合瀏覽器上3D環境的導航介面。在我們的系統中,使用者的指令有若干限制,以避免錯誤產生;並用簡易的學習方式,保持使用者的興趣。另一方面,我們也利用高品質的攝影機移動,來增加使用者的興趣。如此一來,即使使用者不能完全自由的操作傳統的導航工具,卻能快速的學習操作,並且得到更佳的體驗。

New 3D applications in web browsing platforms are rising quickly. Traditional 3D navigation tools, however, not only require much learning, but also could lead to errors and make users confused. In order to fit the needs of Internet users, compared with traditional CAD users, we have designed a specific, user-friendly interface for navigation of 3D environment, especially on a web browser. In our system, users’ commands and motions are under some constraints, so that no fatal errors could be made. Also, we made effort to enhance the motion quality to increase the interest of users and to avoid users from losing their interest as well. In this case, although the web users do not have full freedom to manipulate all the widely used navigation tools, they will obtain better efficiency of learning and better experience of navigating.
