S-頻段和V-頻段之AB類功率放大器

S-band and V-band Class AB Power Amplifiers

摘要


隨著半導體科技業的快速發展,各式各樣的無線通訊產品充斥在大街小巷中,並為人們帶來許多便利性。其中不管是高階智慧型手機、無線感測雷達或是衛星通訊系統…等裝置與設備中都需要功率放大器,因為無線電訊號在大氣層中傳播時,訊號本身的能量會不斷地衰減,如果無線通訊射頻前端電路中沒有功率放大器的存在,那麼無線電訊號就會因為太過於微弱以至於傳送距離非常有限,如此也就無法實現無線通訊的目的。 一個應用於S-頻段(2-5 GHz)和一個應用於V-頻段(57-63 GHz)的AB類功率放大器在此被研究與實現,而選擇這兩個頻段的原因在於這些頻段都有包含ISM的免授權頻段,因為能夠免費使用,所以是許多相關單位投入研究的重點。其中,應用於S-頻段的功率放大器被整合於一個超寬頻無線脈衝雷達系統當中,該無線脈衝雷達可以做到非接觸式的生理資訊感測,如心跳與呼吸…等等,這樣的功能將有效提升醫療照護的實用性與便利性;應用於V-頻段的功率放大器將與工作頻段一樣的超寬頻鎖相迴路結合成一個完整的無線發射器射頻前端電路,特別的是60 GHz附近的頻率容易被空氣中的氧氣吸收,所以該頻段適合應用在短距離且有高傳輸量的需求上,例如將整個家庭的電子設備透過該頻段之無線收發器整合在一起,如此便可透過人機介面在家中的任何角落存取或是控制所有的電子設備。

With the rapid development of the semiconductor industry, our daily life is flooded with all kinds of wireless communication products which bring a lot of convenience to people. Power amplifiers (PA) are essential to equipment such as high-end smartphones, wireless sensing radar or satellite communication systems, etc. The energy of radio signals continuously attenuate when propagating through the atmosphere. If there is no PA in a wireless communication radio frequency (RF) frontend circuit, the purpose of wireless communication cannot be achieved. In this thesis, an S-band (2~5 GHz) and a V-band (57~63 GHz) class AB PA are proposed and implemented. The two frequency bands are chosen because they are located in industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band, which can be used arbitrary without a license. Because of free of charge, the band is the research focus of many relevant units. The S-band PA is integrated in an ultra-wideband (UWB) impulse-radio (IR) radar system, which can accomplish contactless vital signs sensing such as heartbeat and breathing rate. The function will effectively promote the practicability and convenience of the medical care. On the other hand, the V-band PA a phase-locked loop (PLL) with the same band are combined into a complete wireless transmitter RF frontend. Frequencies around 60 GHz is easy to be absorbed by oxygen in air, so the band is suitable for short-range applications with high data-rate transmission. For example, integrate whole household electronic devices can be accessed or controlled from anywhere in a house by a man-machine interface.
