頭配式顯示器之人體生理參數量測分析

摘要


頭配式顯示器(Head Mounted Display HMD)是一種精巧方便的電子式顯示器系統,它可以用以取代部份己廣泛使用的電視與電腦的CRT螢幕,及使用於筆記型電腦的液晶顯示螢幕。 至今,在使用頭配式顯示器之後,對人體是否會產生影響,這影響的可能因素為何,目前均還未獲定論,因此瞭解頭配式顯示器對人體的可能生理反應,是否造成影響為本研究的主要目的。 本研究先針對目前國內外相類似之測試狀況與測試方法,進行彙整及模擬,其中在連續長時間配戴使用後,對於視覺機能的影響,與身體是否呈現不適的感覺等,為目前頭配式顯示器對生理影響的主要問題根源。故此,本研究針對目前頭配式顯示器,在長時間使用上的疑慮,以臨床生理監視分析系統,對使用者進行長時間之生理訊號檢測,並分析各生理參數與使用頭配式顯示器間對應關係,如:針對使用者之心律變異率、血壓變異率、動眼肌疲勞度、大腦動脈血流速,以及瞳孔距離改變情況,配合對觀測者之問卷,以生理學的觀察角度,用以瞭解在頭配式顯示器硬體設計上,對人體機能影響之範圍。 以本研究所量測獲得之資料結果分析,綜合而言,使用頭配式顯示器對人體的上述生理機能之平均反應,均呈現比CRT較負面之反應現象,但以兩小時連續使用的情狀為準,並未顯現造成直接且立即的生理機能傷害。此外,不同規格之HMD對使用者而言,呈現的正面、負面生理機能反應,在程度上亦有不同,此現象,當可提供後續發展頭配式顯示器之主要參考。

The Head-Mounted Display (HMD) provides the users with a set of capabilities that conventional display cannot duplicate. An HMD can be personal, interactive, expansive and virtual. Also it provides the users with an intimate display that can be reactive to head and body movement and surround him with a virtual environment that extends far beyond the confines of the miniature image source. Nowadays, the particular interest for those concerned with health and safety issues are the aftereffects on the visual system and the physiological responses of the human bodies. Nevertheless, the effects and responses were not completely theoretically or empirically understood through a great deal of quantitative physiological data. By using the clinical physiological monitoring system (Multi-Dop X/TCD-7), we designed a set of VCD-watching tests to measure and analyze the physiological signals (ECG, BP, MCA Blood Flow and EOG) collected through a long period of time (about 2hrs). Moreover, we design a target-tracing test for testing the ocular effects by measuring the changes of the inter-pupillary (IPD) distance through a short period of time (about 5min). And we will find the variability of each signal in the different period of testing procedure. At last we conclude the results and refer to the questionary done by the subjects through the testing period, and find out the physiological incidence for HMD users. Each group was compared with the control group who used CRT as the display system. The results indicate that average responses of the physiological functions for the normal subjects were more negative than the control group. But through the entire testing period (even 2 hrs), we cannot find the immediate and direct physiological injuries such as retina strip or hypertension of the users. Moreover, the physiological responses shows different critical level of the subjects by using two types of HMD with different specifications. And wish all the quantitative physiological responses will refer to the HMD designers to investigate a wholly accommodating HMD for the users.
