During the process of modernization in Taiwan, though the protection of cultural property has been a famous issue now, old villages are still often regarded as superfluous and have to face the fate of being removed. For Military dependants' village, its meaning involves culture, population, and community, which is not less important than other formal official architectures. However, under the interference of metropolis renewal and military factors, a huge amount of military dependants’ villages had been removed without professional evaluation in the recent decades, which result in a catastrophe to the immigration history and city historical structure in Taiwan. This research is a part of basic research of modern Taiwan immigration villages that focus on the last Yunnan-Burma guerilla evacuated to Taiwan, in a view from the history development of the isolated army in a foreign land, to the special fifty-year Yunnan community culture of Zhong-Zhen Village in Longgon, and examine the symbols resulted from the process of violent relocation through daily life experiences which have been neglected, then discuss the phenomenon of unbalanced research of Military dependants’ village reconstruction and the appropriateness of correlative policy. This paper cites the theories of Edward W. Said, Anthony Giddens and Jean Baudrillard to examine the research samples and find out the variance of the process of Taiwan city modernization. We hope this research can make contribution to the basic data record of the first-seen Yunnan-Burma Military dependants’ village, and also can be a indoctrination to the idea of Military dependants’ village conservation.
