心智圖法在國中英語閱讀教學應用之研究

A Study on Applying Mind Mapping Method on English Reading Teaching in Junior High School

摘要


本研究旨在探討心智圖法應用於國中英語閱讀教學之實施情形。研究者以七年級的任課班級,實驗組29人,對照組28人,共57位學生為研究對象,設計心智圖法融入英語閱讀教學活動,實施為期十週的研究。目的在探討心智圖法應用於英語閱讀教學之可行性,瞭解教師在推行心智圖法融入教學可能面臨的挑戰,分析心智圖法對學生英語閱讀學習成效之影響。 研究期間以「國民中學七年級英語閱讀能力測驗前測試卷」、「國民中學七年級英語閱讀能力測驗後測試卷」、「心智圖法國中英語閱讀教學學習情況問卷」和「國中學生英語學習情況問卷」等研究工具蒐集資料。本研究主要採用準實驗研究法,使用的統計方法有描述統計、獨立樣本t檢定、相依樣本t檢定、共變數分析等。 研究結果歸納如下: 一、 心智圖法適用於國中英語閱讀教學課程。 二、 學生對心智圖法持肯定認同的態度。 三、 心智圖法能提升學生的學習態度和成就。 四、 心智圖法能增進學生英語閱讀策略。 根據上述的研究結論,研究者提出對於心智圖法融入國中英語閱讀教學和對未來研究的建議,以作為日後推動應用心智圖法於英語教學之參考。

The study aimed to explore the effectiveness of Applying Mind Mapping Method on English reading teaching in junior high school. The participants consisted of 57 seventh-grade students, including 29 students of experimental group and 28 students of control group, and the research had been implemented for 12 weeks, including English reading teaching activities of Mind Mapping. The objectives of the study were to explore the feasibility of applying Mind Mapping Method on English reading teaching, to understand what kinds of challenges the English teachers and students would face while they are using Mind Mapping Method, to analyze how Mind Mapping Method could affect the effectiveness of the students’ English reading abilities. During the research period, the data were collected through “Enlgish Reading Pretest for Junior High School 7th Grade Students,” “Enlgish Reading Posttest for Junior High School 7th Grade Students,” “Applying Mind Mapping Method on English Reading Teaching in Junior High School Questionnaire,” and “Junior High School Students’ English Learning Questionnaire.” A quasi-experimental design was mainly adoped. The data of the study is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, independent-sample t test, paired-samples t test, and analysis of covariance. The results were concluded as follows: 1. The Mind Mapping Method is suitable for the English reading teaching in a junior high school. 2. Students showed positive attitudes and responses toward Mind Mapping Method. 3. The Mind Mapping Method can improve students’ learning attitudes and performances. 4. The Mind Mapping Method can enhance students’ English reading strategies. Based on the research conclusion, the suggestions for the teachers, and future researchers were also provided in this study.
