This qualitative research uses in-depth interview to study Facebook addiction and abstinence experience among six Facebook users. Three analytical results of the research are as followed: 1.The thread of these users’ addiction process is that they started to use Facebook based on individual reasons, and kept using it by being attracted to its environment during the process, or by their own motivation. This habit was intensified because of the positive experience; and when critical factors appeared, the users were indulged in it shortly thereafter. 2.The thread of these users’ abstinence process is that they kept experiencing the negative effects, which lurked in their daily lives and kept affecting them, until critical factors appeared to drive them on to abstain the indulgence at once and back to normal use, or even stopping using it at all. 3.Indulgence of social media tools doesn’t simply signify negative definitions; if social media is used properly, it can not only bring appreciably constructive benefits to daily life, but also have positive meanings.
