本研究旨在了解男性故事志工從事志願服務過程中,所展現出來的關懷倫理意涵。以質性研究為方法,立意抽樣十位男性彩虹故事志工為研究參與者,透過半結構式訪談與文件分析等途徑收集資料,參照彩虹機構的志願服務脈絡後,將研究發現與討論分作「準備時期」、「執行時期」與「反思時期」等三階段論述。研究結果分述如下: 一、「準備時期」:1.團隊討論是彩虹天使實踐關懷與志願服務的搖籃。2.個別準備的時間有助於增進動機移置的關懷倫理。3.部分彩虹天使的期待不只是關懷關係,還包含傳達活動旨意,兩者皆為關懷行動。4.彩虹天使期待成就關懷關係,對自己的期許與要求多過於被關懷者。 二、「執行時期」:1.彩虹天使不固守活動流程,而是因地制宜展現關懷。2.全神貫注於小朋友的需求。3.全然接納回應,報以關懷者真誠的態度。4.彩虹天使了解關懷的有限性,盡全力協助需要關注的小朋友。5.與個別小朋友互動時,多數彩虹天使展現更深度的關懷倫理。6.大多數彩虹天使不論面對全班或個別小朋友,隨時都能自然關懷;少數對「關懷關係」與「傳遞活動意旨」存有同樣期待的彩虹天使,面對個別小朋友時,需喚起倫理關懷。7.部分彩虹天使陳述時自認理性、重視活動中「傳遞活動意旨」,但在經驗分享中卻流露關懷倫理。 三、「反思時期」:1.彩虹天使付出後,對回應有最基本的期待,多數認為收穫比付出要多。2.與小朋友之間、與團隊之間均感受到關懷互惠。3.關懷小朋友使自己的人格特質成長。4.在志願服務中承諾成為關懷者,強化了與小朋友的關係,無形中也提升夫妻關係、親子關係。5.將「與小朋友的關係」視為志願服務中最重要的事,其中部分彩虹天使同等重視故事意旨的傳遞。6.覺察父愛時常缺席,並意識到自身男性的角色,自比為小朋友的彩虹爸爸。7.部分彩虹天使認為身為關懷者,自己與彩虹媽媽沒有差異。8.給小朋友的是一份父愛、一個形象、一種楷模。9.不強求志願服務的影響立竿見影,只盼深耕的種子有發芽茁壯的一天。 最後,立基於本研究結果,針對「彩虹天使」、「男性志工」、「台灣彩虹愛家生命教育協會」與「後續研究」提出實踐層面的具體建議。
The purpose of this research is to make out how male volunteers show their ethics of care in the process of service. In the methods of qualitative research, I sampled ten male rainbow volunteers as participants and gathered data through semi-structured interviews, documentary analysis, and so on. After consulting the operation and system of the Rainbow organization’s volunteers service, we divided the discovery and discussion of the research into three stages: Preparation Time, Execution Time and Reflection Time. The following are the results of the research: Ⅰ. Preparation Time : 1. The group discussion was the cradle of performing caring and volunteering service. 2. Time for individual preparations was beneficial to caring ethics of motivational displacement. 3. Part of the rainbow angels’ anticipation was about not only caring relationship but also conveying the message of the campaign. Both were caring action. 4. Rainbow angels were looking forward to accomplishing caring relationship. Their expectations of and demand for themselves were more than those who were cared for. Ⅱ. Execution Time : 1. Instead of sticking to the procedure of the activities, Rainbow angels expressed their caring according to circumstances. 2. They engrossed in children’s need. 3. They took in their response completely, and held a sincere attitude as caring. 4. Rainbow angels realized the limitations of caring, and they would do their best to help those kids who are in need. 5. Most of the rainbow angels showed devoted caring of ethics when interacting with individual kids. 6. Most of the rainbow angels expressed nature caring whenever necessary while facing the whole class or the individual; few rainbow angels who had the same anticipation of caring relationship and conveying the message of the campaign needed to be reminded of the ethical caring. 7. Some of the rainbow angels viewed themselves as rational persons putting stress on conveying the message of the campaign, but showing ethics of care while sharing experiences. Ⅲ. Reflection Time : 1. After giving their caring, they anticipated responses of all kinds; most thought what they gained was more than what they gave. 2. They felt the mutual caring with both kids and their teammates. 3. Caring the kids improved their personality traits. 4. Promising to be caring persons naturally strengthened their relationship with the kids and elevated marital relationship and relationship between parents and children. 5. They viewed the relationship with the kids as the most important thing in the process of volunteer service; some of the rainbow angels put equal emphasis on conveying the message of the story. 6. Aware of the kids’ lack of a father’s love for them and conscious of their own male roles, rainbow angels pose as rainbow fathers of the kids. 7. Some rainbow angels thought that they were not different from rainbow mothers as caring. 8. What they gave kids were a father’s love, an image, and a role model. 9. Rainbow angels were not looking forward to getting instant results, but expected that the seeds planted with care would grow sturdily someday. Eventually, aiming at rainbow angels, male volunteers, Taiwan Rainbow Family Life Education Association and follow-up research, we will offer concrete, workable suggestions based on the results of the research.
