大學生採納父母建議選擇科系者之學習滿意度與就業意願之探討

Learning Satisfaction and Employment Expectation for Undergraduates who Chose College Majors According to Parents’ Suggestions.

摘要


隨著高等教育擴張,臺灣大學畢業生的比例也逐漸上升。為了讓子女未來能夠有所成就,在選擇大學科系時,家長可能對自己的孩子給予期許與建議。為了回應父母期待,有些子女可能因此放棄自己志趣,而採納父母建議,選擇所謂對未來有保障或是名聲良好的科系。而這些子女會為了什麼樣的原因,採納父母的建議,又採納與未採納父母建議的學生,在學習滿意度上是否可能產生不一樣的結果,兩者的就業意願是否也會有所差異,為研究者欲瞭解的問題。本研究之樣本數為1,203人,皆為北部公、私立普通大學與科技大學日間部學生。研究結果發現:(一)子女採納父母建議之主要原因為回饋父母,經驗參照次之,避免衝突為最少;(二)整體而言,相較於未採納父母建議的學生,採納父母建議者在學習感受、學習專業與成就感上,皆有較高比例的學生認同自己有好的表現;(三)當子女愈是為了避免衝突,而採納父母建議選擇科系,那麼其在未來就業時,就愈可能從事學用不符職業;(四)當子女愈是因為參照父母經驗,而採納父母建議選擇科系,其學以致用的意願也就愈高。

With the expansion of higher education, the proportion of university graduates in Taiwan has increased gradually. Hoping children be successful in future life, parents could give expectations and suggestions to their college choice. Facing parents’ expectations, these students could give up their inclination and choose those “prestige”, “employment force” majors. This research is going to investigate the reasons why these students follow their parents’ suggestions, learning satisfaction differences between those who listened to their parents’ suggestions to choose college majors or not, and learning expectation differences between those who listened to their parents’ suggestions to choose college majors or not. The sample size was 1,203, all of the participants came from north of Taiwan. Results found that (1) the reasons why students follow parents’ suggestions to choose college majors, feedback to parents are at most, following are experiences references, and the least are avoiding conflicts; (2) compare to those who didn’t follow parents’ suggestions, those who did have higher learning satisfaction; (3) the more the students follow parents’ suggestions for avoiding conflicts, the less they would put what they’ve learned to use; (4) the more the students follow parents’ suggestions for experiences references, the more they would put what they’ve learned to use.
