漢字字體圖像在平面設計上的應用與研究

摘要


在科技日新月異的今日,許多數位的語言及符號遍布生活當中,然而中華民國於五千年來的累積,漢字文化歷史深遠,且深入民間,豐富了我們的生活,漢字所蘊含的文字趣味及人文精神應更被重視。而漢字所傳達的,除了言語的溝通交流、獨特的觀物取象造字的觀念及合體文字的特色外,亦能顯示出漢文字字體本身造形構成具有傳達字義的功能。因為漢字字形本身即能表意,當其應用在平面設計上時,字形本身即可視為純粹圖案的表現,進而再統合創意,與字義以及其後所蘊含的文化歷史相互呼應時,除了傳達具有文化內涵的創意外,更增添了設計作品的巧妙趣味。   本研究於文獻分析的部分,先介紹文字的源流以及圖與字之間的關聯性,解釋人類文明中由圖而文的歷史源流;再由字體本身的造形切入,分析漢字的構造,進而將其分為三個要點討論:首先探討最簡化的元素-「筆劃」,而至文字的「外形輪廓」,最後討論漢字獨體及合體的特性-「結構區塊」,以及與群化原則之間的關聯性加以分類探索。再由上述漢字造型的分析再進入漢字應用於平面設計上的領域:分類主軸為漢字的形、音、義以及表現形式,將漢字圖像應用於平面設計加以分類,佐以平面設計案例分析。   在創作的部分,利用案例分析及歸納後所得之設計概念以及文化歷史意涵,運用於海報設計上。透過電腦繪圖的手法,呈現出結合傳統文化與現代並俱的漢字設計創作,並根據創作心得提出對漢字圖像應用於平面設計提出具體建議與未來發展方向。

In modern days, technology has been changing all the time and many digital expressions and symbols have been proliferated in our lives. However, since Chinese accumulated the profound culture of Chinese characters 5000 years ago, the culture of Chinese characters has been interiorized among folks and enriched our lives. Therefore, we should put more emphasis on the interests of words and the spirit of humanity contained in Chinese characters. In addition to verbal communication, the unique concept of observing objects, abstracting images, and then creating words, and the distinguishing feature of combining words, Chinese characters have the function of expressing the meanings of words when they are formed. Due to this function, the form itself can be regarded as the expression of pure image while it applied to graphic design. Further, integrating creativity in response to the word meaning and the culture and history beyond, the design work can not only convey the creativity of cultural connotation but add some ingenuity. In the literature review in the current study, the author first introduces the origin of words and the relations between images and words, trying to explain the historical development from images to words in human civilization. Then the author analyzes the structure of Chinese characters in the form of words. And the author discusses it in three principal points: first the simplest element “strokes,” then the “contours” of words, and finally the relations between the rule of grouping and traits of Chinese characters’ sole form and combining one-“structure.” To go a step further, the author applies Chinese characters to the field of graphic design: the axis is the formation, sound, meaning, and expression of Chinese characters. The author applies those images of Chinese characters to graphic design for categorization, with the analysis of graphic design case study. As for the artistic creations, the author utilizes the design concepts and the cultural and historical connotations derived from the case study and generalization to poster design. By computer cartography the author presents the artistic creations of Chinese characters combining traditional culture and modernity, and gives practical suggestions and directions for future research.
